da por unas tecnologías infalibles. Todos los procesos de tecnificación tienden a modeli- zar o automatizar de manera que el “factor humano” sea menos relevante. Los humanos no hemos dejado de soñar en “the perfect technology of justice” (Lessing 1999), pero tampoco hemos dejado de experimentar el peso de que sean nuestras decisiones las que carguen con la última responsabilidad de hacer que la sociedad sea justa.
Según la célebre fórmula de Lincoln, la democracia es un sistema de gobierno en el que el pueblo tiene una presencia como titu- lar, sujeto y destinatario de la acción política. Para estar en condiciones de responder a la pregunta acerca de si la democracia liberal está indisolublemente unida al mundo ana- lógico hemos de dilucidar qué tipo de subje- tividad política le corresponde al people en el mundo de la inteligencia artificial, qué cla- se de voluntad popular se expresa en el big data, cómo decidimos cuando sofisticamos nuestros procesos automatizados. Necesita- mos un Gettysburg Adress para la democra- cia en la era de la inteligencia artificial.
