comparative literature experts and translation scholars who discuss the ways in which the intersection between Gender Studies, Translation and Modern Language Education is shared across international, cultural, pedagogical and professional boundaries. The panel discussion examines the role played by gender in translational (in)visibility, and how it permeates the question of translation and decolonisation. By focusing on the possibilities of gender as an agent for pedagogical and social change, our experts consider how gender can inform the teaching of legal, technical, and scientific translation, and the role it plays in designing bilingual programmes for higher education. Furthermore, we consider how in translating women authors in the modern language classroom, students and teachers can act as agents of social and cultural change.
