of large amounts of data with dedicated software remain common to all of the above. The ultimate aim is to use (specialised) texts to compile and manage corpora.
In this workshop, participants are exposed to practical insights into corpus management and the production of dictionaries. We first explain the primary functions applicable to monolingual medical corpora. We then delve into the difficulties of parallel corpora using Sketch Engine, a corpus management software. Lastly, we discuss the potential of Lexonomy, a dictionary builder, for medical dictionary production purposes. Additionally, we provide guidance on how to compile corpora and offer readers a comprehensive understanding of corpus- based linguistic analysis with a special focus on medical texts.
