the classroom. These activities are known to enhance the acquisition of integrated skills during the language learning process.
This workshop emphasises the advantages of learning foreign languages through audiovisual translation involving scientific terminology (more specifically, medical language). This multidisciplinary workshop sets out to enhance language learners’ interest in medical language whilst raising awareness of the complex semiotic nature of audiovisual texts. We focus on the applicability of didactic audiovisual translation methodologies that have obtained positive results in existing literature. These studies have proved the relevance of multidisciplinary learning approaches that combine foreign language education with audiovisual translation and specialised medical terminology. Ultimately, we argue that this teaching method can be applied to other educational contexts.
